The M5S Operating System has been under construction for two years. As of today there are nearly 90,000 certified members in the database and that has nearly doubled in a year. You can do the following stuff online and for free (you don’t have to pay two euro each time you want to vote! ):
1. Choose candidates for the national elections (used for Parliamentary elections)
2. Choose spokespersons for the region, town or main town in the province (used for the regional elections in Lombardy and for the local elections in Rome)
3. Choose candidate for nation-wide public positions (eg.. President of the Republic, Watchdogs, President of the Senate, etc.) (used for the presidential elections)
4. Immediate decisions on topics of national interest or of interest to the MoVement (used for considering the behaviour of two M5S parliamentarians)
5. Discussion among members of proposed laws in parliament (and in the future also in the regions) (now undergoing beta testing with some parliamentarians)
6. Creation of stands throughout the country for specific events – using Foursquare …
