The elections for the change and renewal of the European Parliament that are due to be held in May appear to be the main reason that has pushed the supranational establishment, not necessarily the European establishment, to ask the Italian executive for a sudden change in political guise, in other words the change from Letta to Renzi. The manner in which this occurred would seem to indicate some sort of intervention by the supranational bodies that fear the potential outcome of the May elections.
