What struck me during this trip was when I realised that Italy is characterised by an exceptional level of human biodiversity but that this biodiversity comes together in real unity. I found more similarities between an individual from Friuli and a Sardinian and between an individual from Lombardy and a Sicilian who take responsibility for their own lives and strive to change things than similarities between Lombardian and Lombardian or Sicilian and Sicilian. This truly struck me, as did the fact that the „I“ and the „we“ are no longer diametrically opposed.
