Right now, in Davos, there’s the annual World Economic forum, and one of the official documents is the list of the top 10 most competitive European economies. In order, they are: Switzerland, Finland, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Norway, Denmark, Austria and Belgium. Italy’s not there, but you already suspected that. Italy is to be found in position 49 coming below countries like Mauritius, Panama, Malta and Bahrain. In the chart given in the annual report called „The Global Competitiveness Index 2013-2014“, out of the 140 countries, we are still in the first column, but towards the bottom of it.
