An April 3 statement on the parish’s website said: “On Good Friday, April 2, during the Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion, at the moment of the Adoration of the Cross, at about 6 p.m., the police came to the door of our church. We were not allowed to finish the celebration.”
“The police officers, stating that our liturgical assembly was unlawful, ordered everyone to leave our church immediately under the threat of a fine for each of the parishioners present of £200 [around $277] or even arrest. The faithful obeyed this order without objection.”
It looks like something out of a tinpot tyranny. The church service was being livestreamed online. Halfway through, two cops appear and arrogantly walk to the sanctuary itself, the area around the altar. They then take over the lectern from the priest and issue a dire warning to the people who had gathered to commemorate the darkest day in the Christian faith – the trial and execution of Christ. ‘You need to go home’, an officer says. ‘Failure to comply with this direction to leave… could lead you to be fined £200 or, if you fail to give your details, to you being arrested.’

– One batch of five million doses of the AstraZeneca jab bound for the UK has been delayed by a month
. Confusingly Boris Johnson insisted Indian government has not blocked any exports, as he prepares to visit
The source said the root of the delay is that the participant was in the United Kingdom, and the European Medicines Agency and the FDA store data differently.
„They had to convert data from one format to another format. It’s like taking stuff off a PC and putting it onto an Apple. They had to spend a lot of hours to get what they wanted,“ the source said.
A counter-protest by Netanyahu supporters drew some 200 Likud activists nearby, joined by a few dozen La Familia members. When the right-wing protest dispersed, the La Familia members allegedly split up into a number of groups and began wandering the nearby streets and looking for the left-wing protesters. In at least five cases, according to protesters’ allegations, they physically attacked demonstrators, and in many other cases cursed and insulted activists – focusing mostly on women. They also sang songs denouncing former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who was assassinated by a right-wing extremist in 1995.
Olzewski also noted:
„Ventilators are likely to be the leading cause of death in the pandemic. Sedatives and paralytics combined with barro-trauma from pressurized air kill 90 percent of those vented at Elmhurst (and by extension, much of the world).
Nosocomial (in-hospital) infection is the main vector of transmission. At Elmhurst, “Covid Rule-Out” and “Covid Confirmed” are housed in the same rooms. PPE is not changed between patients. Rooms are not properly or even marginally cleaned after Covid deaths.
Isolated from family, patients at Elmhurst who do not have “Do Not Resuscitate” orders are being treated as though they did. Nurses were told not to perform CPR on at least one “full code” patient, in violation of their oaths and licenses.
Delayed treatment due to the government mandate to stay inside, and the government recommendation to not seek early outpatient help, combined with the restriction in New York and elsewhere on promising, even proven therapies during the early stages of illness, massively compounds the death rate.
Much of which points to what may be the real reason black and brown Americans seem to be disproportionately affected by COVID-19. They are likely not dying because of some alleged genetic predisposition or a peculiar array of Covi-combustible comorbidities. But they are certainly dying from an underlying condition: a defunded, criminally negligent, and corrupt hospital system, which during this crisis seems to take extra pains to do them in, and which may be financially incentivized to do so.“
Erin Marie Olszewski is a Nurse-turned-investigative journalist, who has spent the last few months on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic, on the inside in two radically different settings. Two hospitals. One private, the other public. One in Florida, the other in New York.
And not just any New York public hospital, but the „epicenter of the epicenter“ itself, the infamous Elmhurst in Donald Trump’s Queens. As a result of these diametrically opposed experiences, she has the ultimate „perspective on the pandemic“. She has been where there have been the most deaths attributed to Covid-19 and where there have been the least.
Erin enlisted in the Army when she was 17. She deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Part of her duties involved overseeing aid disbursement and improvements to hospital facilities. While in country she received the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service, and was wounded in combat. Erin eventually retired as a sergeant, and became a civilian nurse in 2012.
In a press briefing on Thursday, WHO Europe director Dr. Hans Kluge said a “deeply concerning picture” was emerging of the impact of COVID-19 on long-term homes for the elderly, where care has “often been notoriously neglected.” Kluge said health workers in such facilities were often overworked and underpaid and called for them to be given more protective gear and support, describing them as the “unsung heroes” of the pandemic.
This is the first year, according to the organizers, that they are seeking contributions from the public at large to fund the event, since no movement or non-profit group has agreed to sponsor.

“Rabin broke the law by delivering lectures in America while he was a public servant, earning a fortune,” and then “framed his wife,” Yair claimed, adding that “Rabin murdered Holocaust survivors on the Altalena” — a weapons ship of the pre-state, right-wing Irgun militia that the Israeli military shelled shortly after Israel announced its independence.
The young Netanyahu also accused Rabin of bringing PLO leader Yasser Arafat and tens of thousands of terrorists back to the West Bank, from Tunisia, causing “the deaths of 2,000 Israelis.”
After a firestorm of criticism, the tweets were deleted.
the quandary that has plagued Holocaust-conscience Jews for the past 70 years – how could the world stay silent – is easier to decipher today. When a ruthless demagogue stirs up racial enmity in order to advance his political aims, when his base is swept away by fear and loathing, when political allies are enthralled by his rhetoric or fail to speak out for fear of retribution, when fair-minded groups are reluctant to draw attention or make waves and when the calculations of foreign countries are based on ruthless realpolitik with no regard or even pretense of moral judgment – that’s how it is made possible.
The House passes a bill to send $4.5 billion in emergency aid to the southern border.
The Senate is expected to pass its own version of the bill, while the White House has threatened to veto both pieces of legislation.
The measure’s passage comes as the Trump administration faces backlash over the treatment of migrant children at a Texas detention facility.
This announcement comes as Sanders and other immigration officials recently faced intense criticism over the border agency’s treatment of detained illegal immigrant children after attorneys who visited a border patrol station in Texas publicly described its condition.
In Clint, a farm town about 20 miles southeast of El Paso with fewer than 1,000 residents, there was consternation and dismay among residents at reports from lawyers who visited the border station recently, who said they found that children as young as 5 months old had been housed with filthy clothes, dirty diapers and inadequate food.
“Almost like a concentration camp,” said Juan Martinez, who works at the Pride Fitness gym in Clint and heard about what was happening atunsepa the nearby station from news reports. “I mean, they’re not killing them, but they’re treating them like animals. They need basic hygiene.”
100-year-old Alexander Litvin, who fought with the Red Army against the Nazis, doesn’t understand why Israeli authorities want to evict him from his home in the housing complex, where he’s lived for the past 20 years.
“I can’t move [to a new] house at my age, I don’t know why the government decided to evict us, it’s our home,” said Litvin. He is one of 70 elderly men and women, 45 of them are Holocaust survivors and World War II veterans, who live in a residential compound in the town of Bnei Ayish in south-central Israel and scheduled to be forced out in four months.

One supporter for human composting, Leslie Christian, told KIRO it’s an attractive from an environmental perspective. She said she told her brother, who reportedly said, „Oh great, you can plant tomatoes in me.“

Over the past three decades, the sun has been consistently dropping in activity. Maximum has been quieter than is typical; minimum has been particularly quiet. And this has caused some to make the false assumption that, as a result, Earth is going to cool.

We will soon find out whether there was any justification for the months-long “examination” ordered by Attorney General Avichai Mendelblit into reporedly explosive information about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his closest associates, nothing of which has yet been revealed to the public. No previous attorney general has ever spent months “examining” information before either closing the case or ordering a criminal investigation.
“Given that the ‘hack’ reportedly took place a long time ago, and given that it’s inconceivable that a source in the security services would leak details about an alleged ‘Iranian hack,’ and noting the timing of the ‘leak’ [in the middle of an election campaign] — it was clearly done by someone who has access to sensitive defense information and possesses an interest in harming Gantz,” the party charged in an official appeal to Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit on Saturday night.
(18.8.2011) As Obama issued his statement, the leaders of France, Germany and Britain joined him in calling on Assad “to face the reality of the complete rejection of his regime by the Syrian people and to step aside.”
Obama had spoken to French President Nicolas Sarkozy, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and British Prime Minister David Cameron over the past two weeks to discuss calling for Assad’s resignation and to coordinate steps on sanctions.
(2.3.2011) Testifying before the Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee, Clinton called for an end to the violence in Libya.
She also added that the United States had reserved all its options as it considered additional steps that might be needed to stop Libyan forces from attacking civilians.
