Or, as Glassbox said in a recent tweet: “Imagine if your website or mobile app could see exactly what your customers do in real time, and why they did it?”

NASA Erased First Moonwalk Tapes, But Restores Copies

(17. Juli 2009) After a three-year search for a set of data tapes that promised to offer an improved view of the first moonwalk by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin 40 years ago this month, NASA revealed on Thursday that the tapes were more than likely erased years ago and reused. But the agency then unveiled the next best thing: restored footage based on their best broadcast quality tapes.

Moon landing tapes got erased, NASA admits

(16. Juli 2009) The good news is he found where they went. The bad news is they were part of a batch of 200,000 tapes that were degaussed — magnetically erased — and re-used to save money.

WORLD EXCLUSIVE: NASA finds missing moon landing tapes

(28. Juni 2009) The Sunday Express can now reveal that the missing tapes containing the original high quality images have been found.

If the visual data can be retrieved, Nasa is set to reveal them to the world as a key plank of celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary of the landings next month.

The tapes show in much more detail than almost anyone has previously seen the surface of the moon beneath the patriotic symbol of the US flag.

Crucially, they could once and for all dispel 40 years of wild conspiracy theories.

One giant blunder for mankind: how NASA lost moon pictures

(5. August 2005) THE heart-stopping moments when Neil Armstrong took his first tentative steps onto another world are defining images of the 20th century: grainy, fuzzy, unforgettable.

But just 37 years after Apollo 11, it is feared the magnetic tapes that recorded the first moon walk – beamed to the world via three tracking stations, including Parkes’s famous „Dish“ – have gone missing at NASA’s Goddard Space Centre in Maryland.

A desperate search has begun amid concerns the tapes will disintegrate to dust before they can be found.

Top British Intelligence Agency, GCHQ, Recognizes EC-Council’s Certified Ethical Hacker and Certified Security Analyst Training Programs

(21.8.2018) In a showcase of trust and confidence, GCHQ provided the GCT (GCHQ Certified Training) accreditation to EC-Council’s globally renowned Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) and Certified Security Analyst (ECSA) programs. This recognition is a feather in the cap for EC-Council’s much sought-after credentials, which are among the most comprehensive programs in the field of Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing.

Many intelligence agencies including the Pentagon, FBI, the US Army, and most Fortune 500 companies prefer the C|EH program to enhance the knowledge and skills of their security personnel. Over the years, more than 200,000 cyber professionals were trained and certified with what has become the standard norm for hiring authorities as well as security champions.

C.I.A. Sought Blackwater’s Help to Kill Jihadists

(19. August 2009) The C.I.A. this summer conducted an internal review of the assassination program that recently was presented to the White House and the Congressional intelligence committees. The officials said that the review stated that Mr. Panetta’s predecessors did not believe that they needed to tell Congress because the program was not far enough developed.

The House Intelligence Committee is investigating why lawmakers were never told about the program. According to current and former government officials, former Vice President Dick Cheney told C.I.A. officers in 2002 that the spy agency did not need to inform Congress because the agency already had legal authority to kill Qaeda leaders.

Panetta, has told the Senate and House intelligence committees, two people with direct knowledge of the matter said Saturday.

The report that Mr. Cheney was behind the decision to conceal the still-unidentified program from Congress deepened the mystery surrounding it, suggesting that the Bush administration had put a high priority on the program and its secrecy.

But MPs would then stare into the „abyss“, she said, recognise that a no-deal Brexit would be a disaster and another referendum too risky, and would then approve the deal – perhaps slightly modified – when brought back to them a second time.

This is what ministers refer to as the „TARP model“ – as recently coined by former government aide Rupert Harrison.

For the uninitiated, TARP was the US scheme to bail out bust banks after the Crash in 2008.

The ascent of Artificial Intelligence: How will AI change the nation-state?

Most AI systems today are based on supervised and reinforced learning, where learning happens through exposing the AI system to tens of thousands of illustrative examples. This has led to a stage where the world is shifting from a time where people wrote programs to a time where machines are learning to write codes for themselves. This can be illustrated through the simplest examples of driverless cars – how machines (for example, cars) learn (for example, driving) instead of being programmed to do so.

Facebook obtains patent to „record the ambient audio“ whenever you turn on your television (6/14/18)

„An online system analyzes broadcast content viewed by individuals in a household. Each individual in the household is associated with a client device on which a software application module is executed. When the software application module detects one or more broadcasting signals of a content item broadcasted to the household, the software application module records the ambient audio, including audio from the broadcasting device. The software application module sends an identifier of the individual associated with the client device, an ambient audio fingerprint derived from the recorded ambient audio, and time information for the recorded ambient audio to the online system. The online system, based on the ambient audio data, identifies the corresponding individual and content item and logs an impression for the content item upon determination that there was an impression of the identified content item by the identified individual“.

Richard Stallman: A radical proposal to keep your personal data safe

To restore privacy, we must stop surveillance before it even asks for consent.

Finally, don’t forget the software in your own computer. If it is the non-free software of Apple, Google or Microsoft, it spies on you regularly. That’s because it is controlled by a company that won’t hesitate to spy on you. Companies tend to lose their scruples when that is profitable. By contrast, free (libre) software is controlled by its users. That user community keeps the software honest.
