The one thing we can say with certainty is that it definitely won’t happen in 2023 – probably. That probably comes from not knowing for certain what stage in the journey to quantum computing has been achieved by foreign nations or their intelligence agencies – and they’re not likely to tell us. Nevertheless, it is assumed that nobody yet has a quantum computer powerful enough to run Shor’s algorithm and crack PKI encryption in a meaningful timeframe.
GERMANY was forced to apologise on Thursday for using a leopard emoji in a childish jibe at Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Twitter that ended up offending some Africans.
The German foreign ministry poked fun at Russia’s top diplomat during his tour of Africa when it tweeted that he wasn’t there looking for leopards, but using the trip to try and justify Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

„We are at war with Russia.“ I did not know that. Maybe Germany is at war with Russia again, then good luck to them, maybe it will turn out better than 70 years ago. Well, we are not at war with anyone. And I don’t know how tanks will help Ukraine. Maybe they will help, or maybe they will burn down just like in Iraq. We will not consider this, and please take it seriously. I myself will insist on this for as long as I can.“

So, all DNS server operators have to deal with spoofed UDP traffic, doubly so for open recursive server operators. It requires a lot of fiddling with limits in the software used to detect attacks to adapt the constantly changing attack landscape. Sometimes the attacks look so much like regular traffic that it is tricky to tell attackers apart from real users, which is why many of you have had the unfortunate experience of being blocked as a false positive.
Without getting too technical: UDP traffic can be spoofed. This is primarily true because of lazy or incompetent ISPs not enforcing proper filters on their outgoing traffic.
Because they want to.
It seems that the breakup of the Joint List persuaded Arab citizens to vote with their feet and stay home

Netanyahu’s rivals, jealous over his ingenuity, won’t be able to take their eyes off him and will continue to respond with pointless stammering.
Feindsender (‚Enemy radio station‘) was a term used in Nazi Germany to describe radio stations broadcast by enemies of the German Reich before and during World War II, such as the United Kingdom or the United States. It also referred to radio stations in Germany which broadcast anti-Nazi material. The term has not been in general use since the downfall of the Third Reich.
To understand what the crime syndicate that has taken over this country is after, one must first understand the goals of the man who leads it. The criminal defendant bunkered down in Balfour Street has three goals: to remain prime minister, to cancel his trial and to prevent the truth from coming out about the so-called steel shares and submarines affairs (which could result in charges that are much more serious than those in his current trial).
“Politicians who continue to behave like politicos who try all day long to disband camps and to make deals in closed rooms won’t receive a mandate from the public. That’s the reason why the left was weakened in the past and those are the people who threaten to finish it off.” She went on to say, “Our public deserves to decide in a quick and open primary who will represent it in the Knesset. We established the Democratic Camp and we deserve a democratic leadership like that all over the world.”
However, given that Bolton is generally respected within conservative Republican circles, having served under President Bush, any testimony from him that directly implicates Trump in a bribery scheme would make it more difficult for Republican lawmakers to dismiss the inquiry as partisan. Similarly, any testimony from Bolton could all but vindicate the president. This explains why House Democrats have been reluctant to pursue him.
Two US Capitol Police sources said the situation is being classified as an „aircon,“ which is an as yet unidentified incoming aircraft.

Tech Person at MSNBC.com, I ask you: Why do these websites suck so much?
The Joint List picked up 13 seats in the 2015 elections following its formation, making it the third largest faction in the Knesset. However, the union split ahead of elections in April into the separate Hadash-Ta’al and Ra’am-Balad lists, which won 10 seats between them.
The Joint List won 13 seats in the 120-member Knesset in 2015. Hadash-Ta’al and Ra’am-Balad in April separately won a total of 10 seats.
Arab Israeli voters turned out in dramatically lower numbers for April’s vote compared to that of 2015.

The results of Israel’s April elections were a wake-up call for both Jewish-Israeli left-wingers and Arab citizens of Israel. More than ever before, they have come to depend on each other. The equation is simple: both want to regain power; and neither can do it alone.
All political strategists say that in order to survive, both the left and Arabs need to create some political structure that can empower both.

Assem Jihad, a spokesman for the Ministry of Oil, told Al-Monitor, “The ministry is considering the extension of an Iraqi oil pipeline through Syrian territory to the Mediterranean Sea, and is in the process of studying the economic feasibility of the project and the appropriate geographical and security conditions.”
He said the idea had been proposed in 2004 but delayed due to unstable security conditions in both countries.
(16.02.2018) There was at one time, a completely plausible plan for the region that has gone off the rails — not because any side opposed it — but because there was no oversight to bring the plan to fruition.
In between President Obama’s ‘Pivot to Asia’, the Arab Spring, and the U.S. elections that brought Donald Trump to the White House, the Syrian situation was left unguided and (no surprise!) it therefore deteriorated.
Major powers are now bombing each other’s troops and shooting down each other’s aircraft (and who knows what else is going on that isn’t reported) which makes escalation a foregone conclusion in the absence of leadership and implementation of the original plan.
internal elections in the Islamic Party placed a woman in 4th. Thank you @emankassem
The formation of the joint ticket has been delayed by disagreements over who should occupy the 11th through 14th slots on the slate (Jack Khoury, Monday). But if they can’t bridge these gaps and reunite as the Joint List, those slots are likely to be irrelevant in any case.
Strengthening Arab representation in the legislature and toppling the government are necessary conditions for fighting the Netanyahu-led coalition that passed the nation-state law. This isn’t the time for unnecessary quarrels or disputes that can be resolved after the election. The Israeli voter rewards political mergers. The Joint List must be promptly reconstituted.
There is only one reason behind all of this: A lack of agreement over who will get the 11th through 14th places on the Knesset slate
In reality, the US sanctions and, partly, Europe’s inability to save the JCPOA are gradually radicalizing Iran and its society. Moderates in Tehran risk being accused of betraying their country. They are being undermined and isolated, and their positions are being taken away one by one. For instance, Heshmatollah Falhatpishe, a prominent moderate and pragmatist parliament member, recently tweeted that Iran should give Instex more time. But he’s no longer taken seriously, having just last month lost his position as chairman of parliament’s foreign policy commission to a staunch JCPOA enemy.
At a congressional event, Pelosi, second in line to the presidency, was asked if she had been notified by the White House, and she replied, “No.”

The British, French and German Ambassadors to Iran welcomed representatives from INSTEX and E3 technical experts to Tehran this week for discussions with the relevant Iranian experts and counterparts. These discussions, funded by the EU TAIEX instrument, have helped to advance our collective efforts to ensure trade with Iran that is compliant with EU and international law can continue, including through the special purpose vehicle “INSTEX”.
We understand the economic pressure the Iranian people are facing. We are committed to working with Iran to deliver INSTEX’s first transaction as quickly as possible.
Iran also established a counterparty to INSTEX, called Special Trade and Financing Instrument between Iran and Europe (STFI) in April in a bid to speed up the work.
Also, back in April, neither Kahol Lavan chairman Benny Gantz nor leading party figure Gabi Ashkenazi bothered to attend the seminar for new MKs, meant to prepare them for working in the Knesset.
Taken together, these reports paint an unflattering picture of an amateurish, disorganized, lazy opposition party. Despite the military background of some of its leaders, formulating a strategy and pursuing it with determination and consistency doesn’t appear to be the party’s modus operandi.
