US Blockade on Venezuela Has Cost US$350 Billion: Report

The U.S. government led by Donald Trump is arguing in favor of military intervention in Venezuela, to allegedly end a so-called „humanitarian crisis,“ but the „alleged humanitarian crisis and the migration of hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans have their origin in the economic boycott of the United States and its allies.“

According to the researchers, the U.S. generated a crisis that would serve as an excuse for military intervention in Venezuela. „The US government justifies an eventual intervention, based in the alleged humanitarian catastrophe and in the massive emigration that its blockade, precisely, would have created.“

France protests: PM Philippe suspends fuel tax rises

Fuel tax rises which have led to weeks of violent protests in France have now been postponed for six months.

The move was announced in a televised address by PM Edouard Philippe, who said anyone would have „to be deaf or blind“ not to hear or see the anger.

Students blockade schools as French protests spread: About 100 schools under blockade while prime minister meets opposition leaders

High-school students – who have been protesting against changes to colleges and the university system – also seized on the mood of protest and stepped up their blockades.

About 100 high schools were fully or partially blockaded around the country, including in the southern city of Toulouse and in Créteil in the Paris area.
